E Tenebrae Lux IV (ETL4) - The Vow.

I've entered into yet another painting challenge over at Bolter and Chainsword . The fourth E Tenebrae Lux (which means "From the Darkness.." if my google translator is to be trusted.) Challenge.  The idea is to paint a given number of miniatures/units in the time alotted, starting at primer or base coat. It is a good opportunity to get some more of the neverending Chaos army painted and here's what I have entered.

Not-So-Smiling Bob the Defiler (NSS Bob) (formerly Smilin' Bob, before he was sodomized by a Tyranid Trygon repeatedly) - starting off with my ubiquitous Black/brown base color.

Then, 6 of the "Dogs of Khorne" (aka Khorne Dogs)  Terminator Squad... since these are the only guys with shoulder plates. Same color. I tried to lighten it up, but its hard to see the details.

And finally, this converted Chosen, who will be a sorceror.  I actually have some more detailing to do on him to make him fit in with the grittier look of the army.

With one good painting session under my belt, this is what NSS Bob looks like with his base colors and some washes over the fleshy, corrupted parts.

And while I was rummaging around for a place to keep my Necrons for a bitr, I found this cute little guy.  He needs some finishing and maybe a bit of green stuff , but its always good to have a Chaos Spawn of two around in a Chaos Army.

That's all for now.  Cheers, Yall!

Flying Things and Metal Men.

I had planned to work on other things, but the desire to get some paint on Ms. Charlotte was abit to strong.  After an coat of a 50/50 black -brown, the drybrushing of details begin with GW Rakarth Flesh.

Then, I laid in the basic colors.

The fleshy areas were then drybrushed with GW Elf Flesh. The green areas highlighted with GW Gretchin Green and Screaming Skull.

Then, the washes. My stand-bys for this army GW Althonian Camoshade and Druchii Purple.

But, that's not all that's on the painting table. There are these guys.... Just the base colors, but eventually they will be Bronze and Lapis Lazuli.

And, a close up.

And finally- Da Mekshopp has broke 60k views!  I'd like to thank all of you who stop by my dusty, little corner of the interwebs. It means a LOT to me that so many have checked out my hobby insanity. I'll do my best to keep things interesting. :) Thanks again!!

Cheers Ya'll!

Creepy, crawly, flying things

This is what happens at Da Mekshop when I mix way too much Green Stuff...

And what was that Green Stuff for?  It was for Miss Charlotte's head.

And now.... she is done.  At least the construction/ conversion bit. Painting comes next. In fact, I'm priming her as I type this. Though, that's no guarantee she'll be part of the next update. I still have some Leman Russ tanks to finish. And I might build something.  But, here she is .......

More updates soon. As much as I claim I don't want to buy more models until I start actually playing, I have to say that the Grand Army of the Templars of DOOooom should  have a Dark Mechanicus contingent. I mean, Charlotte and Blinky didn't get this way on their own.

Cheers, ya'll!

Dok Wingnutz Reportin' Fer Duty!

The Doktor is DONE! DONE, DONE, DONE!!! Here's the finished product.

That's all for now. On to the next project.... and I'm not sure what that is. It could be .... anything. Ya know.... one of these days I should do another Orky Dok, with a big, Blue Box!

Cheers Ya'll!

Da DOK-TOR iz in!.......progress.

Just for something different, I spent some time on the Mad Dok.  Here's where he was at when I started my painting session.

Basic colors blocked in and most of the rusty pats rusted. Then it was on to the Orky parts and the details. And there are LOTS of fiddly details....

Stripey pants? Check! Bloody apron? Check! Orky skin sufficiently green and orky? Check! Details? Er.... well, not quite done yet, but lots done.  Odds and ends left to do. Vials and tubes and fiddly bitz here and there. And blood.... dried nasty blood.  Normally, I'd say Ork blood is black or near too it, but for "cinematic effect" I went with a more human red... since its something most anyone might recognize as...well, blood.  If you've been around real blood at all, you might have noticed it doesn't stay bright red for long. In fact, its not usually bright red at all... unless you are in a Spaghetti Western.

I swear they used red paint for blood in those things...or tomato sauce. :)  Speaking of Ugly..... there might be details that need detailing, but this ugly mug is DONE!

Cheers Ya'll!
